I graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2006 at the University of Padua. In 2007 I enrolled in a PhD course in ‘Veterinary Science’, studying the effect of ageing on cognitive and emotional aspects in pet dogs. After obtaining the PhD I worked as a post-doc research fellow, focusing on the behaviour of dogs in public spaces and on the development and validation of behavioral assessment procedures in dogs. In 2012 I obtained a permanent position as assistant research professor in Veterinary Physiology at the University of Padua. In 2014 I completed a postagraduate course in Companion Animal Behavioural Medicine and obtained the board-certification as specialist in animal behaviour. I have been a visiting scientist at CanCog technologies Inc. (Toronto, Ontario, CA) and at the Clever Dog Lab, Messerli Research Institute and University of Veterinary Medicine of (Vienna, Austria). Finally, I am co-founder and president of a spin-off of the University of Padova, the Center for Canine Behavioural Studies, that offers education for canine professionals.
